Cameraman dies, 5 officials injured as vehicle part of DY CM's cavalcade meets with accident in Jammu | KNO

Cameraman with state's Information department on Saturday drowned and five other officials of other government departments were rescued after a vehicle, part of the Deputy Chief Minister's cavalcade, skidded off the road and fell into a canal at Gangyal area of Jammu district.

A police officer told  that the vehicle met with the accident at Gangyal today afternoon and the cameraman of DIPR identified as Suram Singh died due to drowning and his body was retrieved. Five others were rescued and have been hospitalized, the officer said.

Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta termed the incident as tragic and expressed his heartfelt condolences over the death of the cameraman. Gupta said that he along with the officials were heading towards an official function.
